01THE PLACE
A wartime wreck with its cargo still on board.
The SS Thistlegorm was a British cargo ship. She sank in the Red Sea in 1941 and has been on the bottom ever since, with her cargo still in the holds: trucks, motorcycles and military supplies.
It is one of the best known wreck dives in the world, and it is a long day. The boat leaves early to reach the site, and one of the dives goes inside the wreck, which is why this trip is for experienced divers only.
